Tim is a biodynamic farmer through and through, who has been running Ter Linde Orchard skilfully and passionately since 1994. At the moment, he is still working jointly with Piet Korstanje and Heleen van Elsacker but that will change in 3 years’ time when he takes over the company from them. As of January 2017, Tim will be the sole owner. Ter Linde Orchard has 17 hectares of deciduous fruits: 11 hectares of apples (Elstar, Collina, Alkmene and Topaz) and 6 hectares of pears (Conference and Gieser Wilderman). Thanks to infrastructure which includes 300 solar panels on the roof of the storage and sorting warehouse, Ter Linde Orchard’s operations are energy neutral.
Tim: ” I have big ambitions: in the coming years, I want to extend the orchard to cover 21 hectares. I’m relying on Nautilus Organic for the necessary guidance and advice. I’m also happy that administrative issues are well organised, because it means I don’t have to chase up debtors. All that is left to the people at the cooperative, so I have more time to concentrate on the work at my company. Being a member of Nautilus Organic is beneficial for me, because it means we can combine our forces. The full range of fruit and vegetables produced by all the members opens doors to continue supplies throughout the seasons. Together, we’re strong.”
